Grand Final Hosted @ The Misty Mountains Instant Hotel

The GRAND FINALE, here we go! 

This week on Channel 7’s Instant hotel we went back to visit our Nature’s Wonderland ‘The Misty Mountains Homestead’ with over 200 acres of Ancient Rainforest located in tropical North Queensland. In a place called Bellenden Ker, Australia only an hour scenic drive south from Cairns International Airport.

We still had positive energy leading into this week as Gene always says, “Forget the rest, we will be the best”

We really did not want to change anything with our The Misty Mountains Homestead Instant Hotel, as we loved what we had done the first time however, we were given a long list of changes from the Channel 7 interior designers which we implemented… It was a shame that those changes were where we lost the most points. 

Our guests clearly weren’t impressed with the changes… But hey that showbiz for you!

This private rainforest retreat, The Misty Mountains Homestead Instant Hotel still sets you back $990 per night. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it comfortably sleeps a total of 9 people. We decided not to change the price permanently because we offer discounts and coupons seaonsonally depending on what our guest normally book. Typically our property hosts weddings, elopements, anniversaries, birthday celebrations and much more…. Plus, you can’t forget you have access to over 200 acres of ancient rainforest and the modern luxuries of a private glass-bar nightclub. 

We also have 3 other properties located throughout this beautiful ancient rainforest ranging from $169 per night – $890 per night. Depending on the level of luxury and the amount of people of course. All locations have minimum night requirements so it’s best to enquire directly here:

 The Misty Mountains Homestead still had to go head-to-head with the Penthouse Pad to win Instant Hotel. 

So we wanted our guests to enjoy their activity, while they throughly enjoyed the Babinda Kayaking we wanted ours guest to experience all the Great Barrier Reef has to offer, unfortunately this choice was out of our hands. We’re glad they enjoyed splashing about and having fun along the river though!

Gene and I were upset to hear that Debbie thought a place right near Cairns, Australia could ever get boring. Just look at how much there is to do…

Although we didn’t collect the $100,000 we have won by showcasing The Misty Mountains with such high quality professional film of our beautiful property, which will now to be featured on Netflix for the rest of the world to see. I’m sure the they will fall in love with our ancient rainforest retreat. Even if our Instant Hotel characters were quite harsh on screen we want people to know we are a normal Australian family doing our best to create unique experiences for each of our guests. 

A Special Thank You:

– To everyone that made this possible for Gene and I to participate, especially my dad who drove 20 hours from Bundaberg, to stay with us for the 2 months to look after our two daughters, property and of course all our animals (chickens, ducks, peacock, horse cow, dog and cats). 

– Our daughters Ariah and Sorayah for their support during the show it was a big run for us to be separated for two months. We love you so much!

– Tjapukai Cultural Dancers you really where the highlight of the Grand Finals Dinner Party. Gene and I are so proud of your cultural performance it was spectacular to have you represent North Queensland in our Instant Hotel at The Misty Mountains Rainforest Retreat.

– I can’t list all of the other people but there was a massive amount of friends and locals who contributed to us being able to pull off such a massive turn around.

– Thank you to all of the Channel 7 camera crew, sound, lighting and producers. It truly was great to work with such a sensational and professional crew of 50 people.
